Two Santa Fe locomotives inch southward towards the rail yard at Somerville, Texas on a hot July afternoon. The green grasses and bluebonnets of spring have long since wilted - combustibles for a spark from a passing train. Somerville, Texas sits on Santa Fe's principal north/south connection to greater Houston.
